These editorial positions form the core of the academic leadership team
for AESS Publications’ international peer-reviewed journals. Appointees are
expected to uphold the highest standards of scholarly publishing, editorial
ethics, and journal visibility.
General
Responsibilities Across All Roles:
- Manuscript Oversight & Recommendations
Identify, screen, and recommend high-quality, original manuscripts for peer review and publication consideration. Guide content that aligns with the journal’s vision and academic scope. - Peer Review Management
Select, invite, and oversee qualified referees to ensure robust, double-blind peer review. Monitor timelines and ensure fairness, objectivity, and ethical adherence in review feedback. - Final Publication Decisions
Based on reviewer reports and editorial judgment, make or approve final decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts. - Call for Submissions
Promote the journal through targeted calls for papers, special issues, and collaborations. Encourage quality submissions from colleagues, researchers, and professional networks. - Quality Control & Issue Review
Participate in final checks of each journal issue before publication. Ensure editorial accuracy, formatting compliance, and content integrity across articles. - Editorial Strategy & Innovation
Contribute to developing new editorial policies, thematic collections, or innovation in publishing formats (e.g., open access, special editions, region-specific content). - Promotion & Representation
Represent the journal at conferences, seminars, and academic forums. Use personal networks to enhance the journal’s reach, reputation, and citation impact.
Role-Specific
Responsibilities:
Editor-in-Chief
- Provide overall leadership and strategic
vision for the journal.
- Coordinate with all editorial team members
and the publisher.
- Serve as the final authority on editorial
content and policies.
- Ensure the journal’s adherence to international publishing standards and ethical codes (e.g., COPE).
Associate Editor
- Assist the Editor-in-Chief in managing
manuscript workflow.
- Handle specific thematic areas or
disciplines within the journal’s scope.
- Act as the lead editor for selected manuscripts or issues.
Appointment Terms
& Compensation
- Honorary Roles: For applicants interested in
contributing voluntarily in exchange for professional recognition,
academic service, and editorial experience.
- Paid Appointments: Compensation may be available based on the volume of editorial work, journal needs, and prior experience. Terms will be discussed upon selection or during the application process.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience in academic
publishing, research, or editorial work.
- Strong organizational, communication, and
peer networking skills.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and
timely editorial practices.
